Secretary General's Letter to Delegates
Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the WestMUNC XXXIII website. WestMUNC XXXIII is the 33rd annual Westchester Model United Nations Conference, which bring together delegates from all over the greater New York area to participate in a weekend of debate simulating the real United Nations. This year, WestMUNC will contain 12 committees, each of which will discuss and attempt to pass resolutions on different issues that affect the world today. As a delegate, it is your job to loyally represent the views of your assigned country in committee sessions.
Visiting this website is the first step in being prepared and effective in the conference. Here, you will find background papers for each committee that will provide with a brief overview of the issues that will part of your weekend's agenda. You will also find links to various online research resources that will help you learn more about your country's stand on the issues. Westmunc.com also has a downloadable copy of the delegate handbook, which contains al of the rules and regulations regarding committee sessions and will tell you everything you need to know about how WestMUNC works.
